Graphite electrode is mainly made of petroleum coke and needle coke, takes the coal tar as binder. It is made by calcination, compounding, kneading, forming, baking, graphitization and machining and releasing energy in the electric arc furnace for heating and melting the charge as conductor, which is mainly used for the production of steel in the EAF furnace, silicon and yellow phosphorus in the submerged arc furnace. According to the specifcation, it can be divided into regular power graphite electrode(RP), high power graphite electrode(HP) and ultra high power graphite electrode(UHP).
